I think my headspace was a little bit here and there, I wasn’t fully focused throughout the whole match. The first two games were really tough both mentally and physically. There was a slight dip in concentration in the third and the fourth, and I started going to the front a little bit too much. Ivan  was in my corner and was telling me to keep it long, to stay focused, and I was lucky to get through in five.

Baptiste is a great player, he’s been going at it for a while now, and this is a breakthrough for him. He likes to play at a fast pace, but I think I’ve got a game plan in my mind. It will be a good opportunity for one of us to get to the quarters, and it should be a good match.

“I’ve got to keep my head together, we’re still going to be on this court for one more match, it’s easy to overlook it and think ahead to the quarter-finals and the glass court, but I’m just going to focus on the match and will do my best to get through.”
