R2: Camille beats Millie to round off round two

[3] Camille Serme (FRA) 3-0 [21] Millie Tomlinson (ENG)  11-4, 11-5, 11-8 (29m)

A very strong performance I thought from Millie who took the game right to Camille, and pushed her very well in not that easy conditions, in particular in the third. La Panthère prevailed, but had to make sure she was accurate at the back as Millie was attacking everything loose…

Camille

Millie is a tricky opponent. She has beaten some good players and I’m always ready for a big match when I play her. She came back strongly, had some good length in the back of the court and I lost a bit of my concentration as well but I’m happy I won in three.

In the third, she played well, and I lost a bit my focus. When I watch my match against her in Nantes, we heard the commentators saying that Millie was wining most of her points on the forehand. So I tried to go more on the backhand today, but my backhand was not working so well today…

But physically, I was confident enough I could get through even when the shots were not the best…
The court was a bit dead and it was hard to get to the drop shots, and it was very humid. Normally, I swipe my hand on the walls, but tonight I couldn’t as it was just too humid.

Last time I played Yathreb it was a close 3/0 about a year and a half ago, but in the past, we had some hard battles, so I will come prepared and will analyse the match tactically.

It’s very nice to have my family around and even some friends that didn’t know Egypt, chose to come here to see me play at the Pyramids…
